Dear Graduate:
As final preparations are being made for our June 29th Graduation Ceremony, we realize that you may have many questions regarding upcoming plans and the event itself. This letter serves to help answer any concerns that you may have for this very special evening.
You have recieved four invitations for floor seating. There will be overflow seating available for additional guests in the stands. Seating is not assigned and will be on a first come, first served basis. Graduation gowns will be yours to keep and will be available for pick up at GFESS from 12:00 - 2:00 from June 21st to June 23rd in the Learning Commons. Additionally, students will need to fill out a graduation card by the time they pick up their gown. Information collected will be presented at the grad ceremony as you cross the stage.
Graduates need to arrive at 5:00 pm on June 29th to provide ample time to properly plan for the ceremony. At 5:30 pm graduates will be assembled and given final instructions on proceedings. The ceremony begins at 6:00 pm at the Fort Erie Leisureplex located at 3 Municipal Drive. There will be a brief rehearsal on the day of graduation in the main arena starting at 12:00 noon.
As with any formal ceremony, a dress code will be in accordance with the occasion. Sandals, shorts or similar casual attire would not be considered appropriate. All of us would like to give the achievement of the Ontario Secondary School Diploma the significance and stature that it deserves and would like it reflected in the appearance and behaviour of our graduates.
We are all excited to celebrate your graduation from GFESS. On behalf of all of us at GFESS, congratulations on your achievement! We look forward to the formal recognition of this milestone on June 29, 2022.
Sincerely,
Fred Louws
Principal
