Band-Aid Music Grant

Mr. Sayliss here with exciting news for GFESS.  This past November I put forth an application for funding with the Caras Musicounts Band Aid grant program.  I am thrilled to announce that GFESS has been awarded $10,000.00 under this program for the purchase of new instruments and refurbishment of our existing inventory!  While it will be great to have these new instruments, the real treasure lies in you our music students at the school. Without your participation in classes and our extra-curricular groups the potential of this grant won’t be fully realized.  I’m reaching out to all of our first term grades 9-12 students to encourage you to get involved with our Junior Band, Concert Band, Drumline and Jazz Combo following the March Break. If you haven’t taken music yet, come and join the GFESS choir on Mondays!  Thanks to the students, parents and staff who wrote letters of support for our successful application.
