Our mission is to prepare students with exceptionalities for life beyond secondary school by providing a variety of life skills to promote greater independence. The students are connected to opportunities in the Greater Fort Erie community, as well as being part of an inclusive educational environment within our school. We develop and enhance our students’ social skills while focusing on their literacy and numeracy abilities for a well-rounded education so students reach their full potential.
The Specialized School To Community (SSTC) program at GFESS supports student learning in credit bearing courses and specialized classes. Students and their families have the choice to achieve the Ontario Secondary School Certificate (14 credit program) or the Certificate of Accomplishment. In addition to literacy, numeracy, and life skills, we offer courses in: social skills, culinary skills, physical education and fitness, dance, drama, art, First Nations, Metis, and Inuit history and culture, geography, science, technology, computer skills, music and the world of work.
